Our story · Since 2008

From a simple belief to the Next Generation.

School Is Fun Foundation traces its beginnings to 2008, when the vision began taking shape around a simple purpose: help children experience education as opportunity, participation, creativity, and hope.

Over the years, that purpose has been documented through school visits, photographs, videos, student performances, educational support, and relationships with educators and communities in Ghana.

Our past is the evidence. Our children are the purpose. The next generation is the mission.

Today, we are carrying that history forward through stronger governance, school and community partnerships, collaboration with Child Alert Foundation (CAF-Ghana), and a renewed commitment to sustainable educational impact.

Coordination from the United States and relationships in Ghana connect practical support with the priorities of local schools and communities. Our work is strengthened through collaboration with Child Alert Foundation (CAF-Ghana) and participating schools.

Educator and minister whose background combines teaching, mentorship, youth development, spiritual leadership, and community engagement. He brings an educator’s and community leader’s perspective to the Foundation.

Mrs. Jennifer F. Apagya

Mrs. Jennifer F. Apagya

Treasurer · Winneba MA JHS

Mrs. Jennifer F. Apagya serves as Treasurer of School Is Fun Foundation. An educator with 25 years of experience in basic education, she brings a strong background in early childhood learning, girls’ education, teacher mentoring, and curriculum leadership. She holds the rank of Assistant Director I with the Ghana Education Service and teaches at Winneba M/A Junior High School.

She holds a Master of Philosophy in Early Childhood Education (2024), a Master of Arts in Human Rights (2013), and a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Care and Development (2011), all from the University of Education, Winneba. She also holds a Teachers’ Certificate A from Akrokerri Teacher Training College (2003) and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education at Philippine Christian University in Manila.

Her professional experience includes more than ten years as a Girl Child Facilitator, twelve years mentoring for the University of Education, Winneba, and four years as a Curriculum Leader. She facilitates professional learning communities and girls’ clubs, participates in continuing professional development, and researches teachers’ professional learning. Her educational leadership and commitment to children’s rights support the foundation’s work to expand learning opportunities in Ghana.

Enoch Justice Yebuah, MEd (Science)

Enoch Justice Yebuah, MEd (Science)

Board Member · Ghana Representative · Ghana Delegation Leader

Enoch Justice Yebuah is a child rights practitioner and educationalist who holds a Master of Education in Science. He leads the Ghana delegation and supports local implementation and school partnerships through Child Alert Foundation (CAF-Ghana).

Dr. Frederick Yaw Korang

Dr. Frederick Yaw Korang

Board Member

Dr. Frederick Yaw Korang serves as a Board Member of School Is Fun Foundation. He is an educator and researcher with more than 25 years of experience in teaching, school leadership, and teacher development. His expertise includes social studies education, authentic assessment, and educational research.

He holds a Ph.D. in Social Studies Education (2024), specializing in authentic assessment, a Master of Philosophy in Social Studies Education (2013), and a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies (2008), all from the University of Education, Winneba. He also holds a Teachers’ Certificate A from Abetifi Presbyterian College of Education.

His experience includes teaching Social Studies and Economics and serving as a Head of Department at Winneba Senior High School, alongside part-time tutoring with the University of Education, Winneba, and Valley View University. He has contributed to publications and professional development activities on assessment, pedagogy, human rights, and student employability.

Through his board service, he brings experience in teaching, research, and community engagement to support the foundation’s mission of expanding educational opportunities for children in Ghana.

The vision grows from roots in 2008 and a 15-year legacy chapter spanning 2011–2026. We are connecting that history with a practical next step: learning resources, creative school activities, and stronger local partnerships.

Our history and accountability

School Is Fun Foundation traces its beginnings to 2008, with a history of educational support in Ghana that includes learning materials, school participation, creative expression, and community relationships. The organization holds U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and is strengthening its current governance, partnerships, grant readiness, and donor infrastructure.

Historical financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2011 form part of the foundation’s records. They describe that year’s activities and financial position.

Historical records are retained for accountability and institutional history; current leadership and program information are reflected on this website.
